THE PROJECT
This repository grows out of the friendship and admiration we have developed towards Juan Castillo over time. Just like Juan’s work, this project is founded on affection and being able to reflect together on other ways to broaden one’s gaze, understanding the value of sharing.
Based on conversations with Juan, we raised the idea that his visual work maintains a relational continuity, from the seventies to our present days.
The projects that we identified to organize this repository are groups of actions or documentary sets that are linked to each other and are presented as a fabric that joins cross-cutting questions. This is why we inaugurated the classification categories as a model that could be modified over time, this will generate a horizontal and non-hierarchical archive, which allows the works to be moved virtually based on infinite and mobile connections. The possibility to interconnect visual experiences with the present and its transition to different dimensions of political and sensitive work is the focal point from where we place ourselves on the work of Juan Castillo and the process that it presents.
This is an under construction repository which celebrates its first stage on this portal. Not all of Juan’s work is contained here, but rather those pieces we collectively organized to be able to observe their binding power.

Graduated in Art from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso. Restorer Conservator of the Alberto Hurtado University and School of Applied Arts. Specialist in museums, cultural transmission and management of anthropological and historical collections at the University of Buenos Aires.
She has worked in areas related to conservation and restoration, collaborative art, education, and document management. She is working on the design and development of work deposits, packaging, transfer of works, diagnosis of collections, digitization of objects and documents, curatorship, assembly of exhibitions and collaborative projects.
Since October 2019, she is part of the art collective Pésimo Servicio, which was created with the purpose of generating a perspective on critical and political action from the visual arts and the territory. This interdisciplinary collective works from graphics, actions in public spaces and landscapes, in collaboration with other artists, communities and social agents. In 2021, she joined the Atacama Desert Graphic Arts Laboratory (LAGDA) team as content coordinator.

Researcher and digitizer Juan Castillo Repository.
Master in Photography, Art and Technique from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and a Bachelor of Art from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso. In addition, he is a professor at the Autonomous University of Chile.
In his career he has served as both artist and curator. As a curator, he has worked at LABi (Laboratory for Image Thought, Creation and Dissemination) in Valencia, Spain, and at the Valparaíso Art Center. Among his most recent curated exhibitions, "Persist in the Image" stands out at CENTEX and Blenden, Shielding Architecture and Capital at the Ex-prison Cultural Park of Valparaíso.
His works as an artist have been exhibited in Chile, Spain and Poland, with outstanding exhibitions such as "Subject in question" at Fundación la Posta in Valencia, "Linga" at Cámara Lúcida in Valparaíso and "De visita en..." at the Galería 1:1 Dinamarca 399. Muñoz is also part of the collective Pésimo Servicio .

Art and History Theory graduate, has a degree in Archiving from the University of Chile. Master in Information Studies from McGill University (Montréal, Canada).
His investigations are carried out in the field of Latin American art, especially situated in Chilean art from the eighties to the present time. He has published and presented his research in various local and international media and academic journals. He has digitized, processed, and spread personal files of artists such as Yeguas del Apocalipsis, Víctor Hugo Codocedo, and Hernán Parada, which are published on homonymous websites (www.yeguasdelapocalipsis.cl, victorhugocodocedo.cl and hernanparada.cl).

Journalist and Social Graduate from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso.
Since 2010, she has been linked to digital content, with a special focus on the culture of the Valparaíso Region. He has written for media and platforms such as Siente Valpo, UPSOCL, El Ciudadano, La Juguera Magazine and Valparaíso Creativo, and has worked with cultural organizations such as the Valparaíso International Photography Festival, Puerto de Ideas, Valparaíso Musical and the Recobrado International Film Festival.
